We are people who care about our community and want to help make it better.

We use technology to address social issues that impact our community. We build apps, websites and dashboards; we connect underserved communities with technologies that the rest of us take for granted; we help grass-roots activists use data to inform their policy advocacy.

And we’re not just coders. Code for Asheville members range from hard-core programmers and data geeks to neighborhood organizers and social activists working with local governments to find creative solutions to our common challenges.

We are a Code for America brigade.

Code for America is a network of people making government work for the people, by the people, in the 21st century. Code for America uses the principles and practices of the digital age to improve how government serves the American public, and how the public improves government.
